Herb’s first directing job came in the early part of 2005 where he directed Micheal Reosenthal’s Forgivable Sins which was a finalist at the Samuel French One Act Festival in New York City.  As a director Herb has made some great strides garnering praise from Woody King of the New Federal Theater in New York City after seeing his work directing Revenge of a King at the Producers Club NYC (2005). The production was later accepted to the 2006 New York International Fringe Festival. The following spring he directed the national tour of Roll of Thunder Hear, My Cry for the National Theater of Arts and Education.  That was imediately followed by Sing Black Hammer at the Kuntu Repertory Theater in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Vernell  Artistic Director of Kuntu dedicated the 2007-2008 season to four outstanding young artists in which Herb was included in that mix. He returned to the theater that season to direct Ernast McCarty’s new gospel musical Journey of the Spirits. Herb currently serves as the Managing Director for the Loaves and Fish Repertory Theater and is a founding Member of the standard.
